Shane Le Mar - Final Project Idea Generation

Idea 1: Motion Graphics - Showreel

I would create a sequence of unrelated motion graphics that would aid in showing off my skills in After Effects and C4D. The Showreel would be around four minutes long containing 15 – 20 short Motion Graphics. 

Ideas:   Logo Animations, Idents, Infographics, Title Cards, Credits, Introductions

These ideas would be a compilation of After Effects techniques and CGI (C4D). Each graphic would aim to be between 10 and 15 seconds long, some with audio (sound effects or music track) and some would be silent.

Idea 2: Amazing Friends II – Music Video

For this idea I would produce a high quality Music Video for Professor Elemental (Paul Alborough) that would be a combination of Live Action and Animation. The music video would contain some of the following elements.

Ideas: Full Music Video, Live Action, Animation,  Typography, CGI, Abstract, Green Screen, Drawing on Video

·         Song choices:

o   Just Like an Otter

o   Snake-oil Salesman

o   Others (maybe?)

This idea would be issued by and created for an outside client who will provide a small wage for the creation of the Music Video. Most of the work would be produced by myself however Paul would provide the live action footage (that would be filmed by a cameraman provided by his manager). The Music Videos length would be around 3- 4 minutes (to fit the length of the track) however with credits and logos it should match the briefs stipulations.

Idea 3: Amazing Friends II – Trailer/ Promotional Material

This idea would be similar to the last in the respect that it would be commission work for Paul however this would be for a Trailer instead of a Music Video. I’ve worked on several Teasers and Trailers in the past for Paul and other clients so it would be within my comfort zone. Once again the Trailer would contain these elements

Ideas: Live Action, Animation, Re-used footage (from previous music videos), Sound Effects,  

·         Song Choices

o   Tea Total

o   Just Like an Otter

o   Nerds Gone Wild

o   *Unnamed* Mr Frisbee Collaboration

·         2D Motion Graphics/3D Element (inside AE)

·         Shorter than allotted project time

Once again this Trailer would be issued by an outside client etc. The trailer would be around 1:30 minutes in length, thus would not adhere to the brief so to go along with the trailer I may create some short Teasers and other Promotional Material for Paul’s album to make up the time determined by the brief.

I’ve created a small test of what the Drawing on Live Action may look like that I sent to Paul. It was recived well and seems that it a technique I will include in the final video.

I’m going to be meeting up with Paul on Wednesday 23^rd & Thursday 24^th of January to discuss further the possibilities of creating either a Music Video or Trailer/Series of Promotional Material. This will aid in adding clarity to the project at this stage.
